Penina Hotel & Golf Resort

Positioned in the western Algarve, Penina Hotel & Golf Resort is renowned as the true home of Portuguese golf. The only resort in Portugal to offer three golf courses, its par 73 Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course was the first 18-hole course to be constructed in the Algarve and is noted for offering some of the finest and most challenging golf in the world. It has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times and is a must play on any visit to the region.
The resort is set in a stunning 360-acre estate amidst beautiful natural landscape surroundings. The marquee championship course has hosted 10 Portuguese Opens and scores of other prestigious tournaments. The Academy Course and the Resort Course both provide a golfer the opportunity to fine-tune one’s short game, while providing gentle training grounds for beginners. The greens are relatively small and accuracy off the tee and for approach shots is required. Penina also offers guests a host of other amenities, including the Algarve’s largest private outdoor pool (unheated and seasonal), floodlit tennis, a beach club and the Kangaroo Club for children. All make it the perfect holiday destination with golf at the top of the list.
